Dr. Lauren Tapp is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science and currently serves as a department chair of Exercise Science and Physical Education. She holds a Ph.D. in Integrative Exercise Physiology from Temple University (Philadelphia, PA), as well as an M.S. in Exercise Physiology and a B.S in Exercise Science and Nutrition from the Florida State University. Her current certifications include Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) and Level 2 Exercise is Medicine (EIM-2) through the American College of Sports Medicine, Level 1 Club Coach through USA Weightlifting, as well as a Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) though the International Society of Sports Nutrition. In addition to her 20 years in higher education, Dr. Tapp has varied industry experience including several years in hospital wellness and clinical exercise physiology, as well as in private and collegiate strength and conditioning at the NCAA Division I level.
Dr. Tapp is dedicated to advancing the field of exercise science by helping prepare undergraduate students and aspiring professionals to be successful in their respective career choices. She strongly believes in practical application and learning hands on skills as part of a complete academic experience.
